Is the E-Transit also be able to charge in public at non-Ford networked chargers?
Access to North America’s largest public charging network* eliminates the need to register with multiple charging networks or to download multiple apps. E-Transit drivers can use the non-Ford networked chargers as well and will need to pay for charging through direct coordination with those providers.
*Based on original equipment manufacturers (OEM)/automotive manufacturers that sell all-electric vehicles and have publicly announced charging networks and using Natural Resources Canada Electric Charging and Alternative Fueling Stations Locator website (https://www.nrcan.gc.ca). FordPass, compatible with select smartphone platforms, is available via a download. Message and data rates may apply.
Does Ford offer its Ford Connected Charge Station for the E-Transit for fleet purchase?
Yes. For fleet operations requiring a faster charge at home for their employees, Ford will offer a 240V – 48A Ford Connected Charge Station. The available Ford Connected Charge Station is Wi-Fi-enabled and can fully power your vehicle overnight. * Vehicle charge events can be tracked and summarized for employee reimbursement.
*Standard = 120V. Ford Connect Charge Station = 240V. Range and charge time based on manufacturer computer engineering simulations and EPA-estimated range calculation methodology. The charging rate decreases as battery reaches full capacity. Your results may vary based on peak charging times and battery state of charge. Actual vehicle range varies with conditions such as external elements, driving behaviours, vehicle maintenance, lithium-ion battery age and state of health.
Why should employees charge at home?
Charging overnight reduces vehicle and driver downtime and ensures the battery is fully charged to start the workday, with the available 240V – 48A Ford Connect Charge Station. * Ford fleet-wide energy monitoring and vehicle management tools can provide fleet managers with reporting to support reimbursement for employees who charge at home.
