      Why a smoothie?

      Over the last decade, we’ve been building Ford trucks and SUVs with plant-based materials. That means you can drive a Ford, but you can also drink some of the stuff that goes into a Ford. 

       

      To prove it, we took some of the delicious plant-based materials we use to build Ford vehicles, bottled them, and made it available to you as a healthy, delicious smoothie.

       

      OUR INGREDIENTS

      The Ford Smoothie is made with some of the plant-based materials used to build Ford vehicles of the past and the present. To add a little taste of the future, we also included a handful of extra ingredients that are currently being researched for Ford vehicles of the future.
      • A coconut, cut in half

        COCONUT:

        In the past, we’ve used coconut fibres in trunk mats. Because the fibres can be a little chewy, our recipe uses pure coconut water to create a smooth, satisfying texture.

         
      • Soy in various states of preparation

        SOY:

        Every single Ford vehicle built in North America uses soy foam in its seats. Because foamed soy is a little too thick to drink, we use cooked, non-gmo soybeans in our smoothie recipe.

        RICE:

        We currently use rice hulls in vehicle electrical systems. Because the hull of the rice can be a little tough, we use cooked brown rice in our smoothie. 
      • A pile of oranges and orange slices

        ORANGE:

        Ford engineers are currently experimenting with orange peels for future use in Ford vehicles. Because peels can be a little bitter, we use orange juice in our smoothie.
      • An agave plant

        AGAVE:

        Ford engineers are currently experimenting with agave fibre for future use in Ford vehicles. Because agave fibre can be tough to digest, we use agave syrup in our smoothie.
      • A field of algae

        ALGAE:

        Ford engineers are currently experimenting with algae for future use in Ford vehicles. To give our smoothie nutritional boost, we used Blue Majik Algae in our recipe.
