How do I update my SYNC®* settings preferences?

You can adjust the time, Bluetooth®** connected devices, driver-assist features, and more in the Settings menu for your SYNC 4A and 4 systems using the steps below. 

Changing SYNC Preferences

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to modify your SYNC settings. 

Note: If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option. 

Identifying Your Vehicle's SYNC Generation

Two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC generation are the:

SYNC 4A

To set your preferences with SYNC 4A:

  1. Tap the Home icon.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Choose Preferences.
  4. Adjust any of the following settings:
    • Clock: Set time, select mode, auto daylight savings time, and more.
    • Sound: Adjust speaker preferences.
    • Bluetooth: Edit the Bluetooth-enabled device list.
    • Driver Assist: Lock in the preferences for driver-assist technology use.
  5. Tap Apply to save the changes.

SYNC 4

To set your preferences with SYNC 4:

  1. Select the Settings tile.
  2. Choose Preferences.
  3. Adjust any of the following settings:
    • Clock: Set time, select mode, auto daylight savings time, and more.
    • Sound: Adjust speaker preferences.
    • Bluetooth: Edit the Bluetooth-enabled device list.
    • Driver Assist: Lock in the preferences for driver-assist technology use.
  4. Select Apply to save the changes.
