Which Ford vehicles are compatible with Apple CarPlay?

Apple CarPlay®* can be used in select 2016 and newer vehicles equipped with SYNC®**.

It is available for:

  • 2017 and newer vehicles equipped with SYNC 4A, SYNC 4, and SYNC 3.

  • 2016 vehicles with SYNC 3 and software version 2.0 or greater. See the What SYNC software version do I have in my vehicle? article for help identifying your SYNC software version. 

    Apple CarPlay will require a hardware update from a Ford Dealer to function.

Note: Apple CarPlay is unavailable on SYNC 3 (non-touchscreen) and any SYNC systems that do not have a touchscreen.

How do I connect to Apple CarPlay?

*Requires phone with active data service and compatible software. SYNC 3 does not control 3rd party products while in use. 3rd Parties are solely responsible for their respective functionality. 

**Don’t drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
