How do I enable and disable Android Auto™* with SYNC®**?

Android Auto is managed with your in-vehicle SYNC screen and can be turned on or off with the instructions in this article.

Important: Some SYNC features, such as the optional navigation system, will not be available when using Android Auto.

Enabling and Disabling Android Auto with SYNC

Important: Ensure that your vehicle is on and running in a well-ventilated area, and is in Park (P). .

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to enable or disable Android Auto.

  • If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.
  • Actual screens may vary. See your Owner’s Manual for information specific to your vehicle.

Identifying Your Vehicle's SYNC Generation

Two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC generation are the:

SYNC 4A

To enable or disable Android Auto with SYNC 4A:

  1. Tap Settings or the Home icon (varies by software version) on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Press Settings.
  3. Select Phone List.
    • If Android Auto is not already enabled, press Connect Android Auto to enable.
    • To disable Android Auto, select Disable Android Auto.

To enable or disable Android Auto with SYNC 4:

  1. Tap Phone on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Press Phone List.
  3. Select your phone from the Phone List.
    • If Android Auto is not already enabled, press Connect to Android Auto to enable.
    • To disable Android Auto, select Disconnect.

To enable or disable Android Auto with SYNC 3:

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Swipe to Android Auto Preferences.
  3. Choose your phone from the list of devices.
    • To enable Android Auto, press Enable.
    • To disable Android Auto, press Enable, then select Disable from the available options.
