How do I save a quick dial number with SYNC®*?

You can create and store a frequently called number with your SYNC system using the following instructions.

Saving a Quick Dial Number

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to save a phone number to your contacts. If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option. 

Identifying Your Ford's SYNC Generation

Either:

  • Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Check for update.
  • Log in with your Ford credentials, choose a vehicle from your garage, and select Check for updates.

Your SYNC generation will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

SYNC with MyFord Touch®

To store a quick dial number using SYNC with MyFord Touch:

  1. Go to the SYNC Phonebook or Call History menu on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select Contact.
  3. Tap Quick Dial.
  4. Choose a slot to save the number.

SYNC Generation (Gen) 1.1

To store a quick dial number using SYNC Gen 1.1:

  1. Go to the SYNC Phonebook or Call History menu on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select Contact.
  3. Press and hold the preset button for the slot you want to store the number in.
  4. Wait for the screen to blink.
  5. Save the contact.

SYNC Gen 1 with Navigation

To store a quick dial number using SYNC Gen 1 with Navigation:

  1. Go to the SYNC Phonebook or Call History menu on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select Number.
  3. Press Quick Dial.
  4. Choose a slot to save the number.

*Don’t drive while distracted. Use voice-operated systems when possible; don’t use handheld devices while driving. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
