How do I delete a previous destination with SYNC®*?

You can delete your previous stops in your SYNC Navigation or Destination menu using the steps below.

Removing a Previous Destination

Important: Ensure your vehicle is on and running in a well-ventilated area, and is in Park (P). Some SYNC Navigation destination options may be greyed out while the vehicle is in motion.

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to delete a previously entered address from your SYNC system. If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.

Either:

  • Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Check for update.
  • Log in with your Ford credentials, choose a vehicle from your garage, and select Check for updates.

Your SYNC generation will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

SYNC 4A

To remove a previous destination with SYNC 4A:

  1. Select Where to on your vehicle's SYNC screen. 
  2. Tap Recents. 
  3. Choose one of the following options:
    • Select the Delete icon to delete all previous destinations.
    • Select a single destination and then the Delete icon next to it to delete only that destination.

SYNC 4

To remove a previous destination with SYNC 4:

  1. Select the Search icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Tap Recents.
  3. Drag an address to the left. 
  4. Choose the Delete icon.

Note: There is only an option to delete a single previous destination. There is no option to delete all previous destinations. 

SYNC 3

To remove a previous destination with SYNC 3:

  1. Select the Nav button on the Feature Bar on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Tap the Destination button.
  3. Choose Previous Destinations.
  4. Select Delete All. 

Note: There is no option to delete a single previous destination. To delete one previous destination, you will need to delete all of them. 

SYNC with MyFord Touch®

To remove a previous destination with SYNC with MyFord Touch:

  1. Select the Navigation bar on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Press the Dest button in the top-right of the screen.
  3. Tap Previous Destination.
  4. Choose one of the following options:
    • Select Delete next to a previous destination to delete it. 
    • Select Delete all to delete all previous destinations.

SYNC with Next-Gen Navigation

To remove a previous destination with SYNC with Next Gen Navigation:

  1. Press the Dest hard button.
  2. Tap Standard on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  3. Select Previous Destination.
  4. Choose one of the following options:
    1. Select Delete next to a previous destination to delete it. 
    2. Select Delete all to delete all previous destinations.

SYNC with "P" Version Navigation

To remove a previous destination with SYNC with "P" Version Navigation:

  1. Press the Dest hard button.
  2. Tap Previous Destination.
  3. Choose one of the following options:
    1. Select Delete next to a previous destination to delete it. 
    2. Select Delete all to delete all previous destinations.

*Don’t drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
