How do I change the Wi-Fi hotspot password in my Ford?

You can modify your vehicle's Wi-Fi^® hotspot^* password using SYNC^®**.

Changing Your Wi-Fi Hotspot Password

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to change your Wi-Fi hotspot password. If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.

Identifying Your SYNC Generation

Select a resource in the table below to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC generation.

Either:

Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Search.
Log in with your Ford credentials, choose a vehicle from your garage, and choose Select Vehicle.

Your SYNC generation will appear on the right side of the page under the “SYNC Current Version” heading.

Tap the Settings or Home icon on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
Select Connectivity.
Scroll to the Vehicle Hotspot section.
Choose Edit.
Tap Change Password.
Enter your new password.
Select Done.

Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
Select Connectivity.
Press Connected Vehicle Features.
Choose Edit.
Tap Change Password.
Enter your new password.
Select Done.

SYNC 3

Tap Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
Select either Wi-Fi & Hotspot or FordPass Connect.
Press Settings.
Choose Edit.
Tap Change SSID Name.
Enter your SSID Name. This is the name of your vehicle's Wi-Fi hotspot.
Press Done.
Select Change Password.
Create a password.
Choose Done.
