How do I perform a software update on my Ford Maverick radio?
You can update your Connected Touch Radio* using the Settings menu.
Important:
- Your vehicle must be parked and running, and in an open location (e.g., free of overhead foliage, ceilings, etc.).
- Instructions may vary. See your Owner’s Manual for information specific to your vehicle.
To update the radio in your Ford Maverick:
- Press the Settings button on your vehicle's radio screen.
- Swipe to the right and tap the Wi-Fi button.
- Use the System Wi-Fi toggle to enable Wi-Fi.
- Tap View available networks.
- Select your Wi-Fi network.
- Enter your Wi-Fi password to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
- Press the Settings button once connected.
- Tap Automatic updates.
- Toggle the Automatic system updates on.
- Select Scan for updates now to trigger a software update. Wait while the system is checking for an update. There will be a circular animation.
- If there is no software update available, the system will show when it last checked for updates.
- If there is a software update available, the system will automatically show a progress bar indicating the status of the software download.
After installation is finished, it will take a few ignition cycles for the software to be updated. There will be a temporary message on the top bar stating “Update installation complete” when it is done.
Note: The approximate time for an update is 10-20 minutes, depending on connection bandwidth.
*Don’t drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear.
