What are the different types of keys my Ford vehicle can have?
Several types of keys are available for your Ford, ranging from key blades to keyless entry. Even your phone can be used as a key in select vehicles. Learn about the different options below.

Intelligent Access Key*
Intelligent access technology works with push-button start. It allows you to enter and start your vehicle while keeping your key fob in your pocket or purse. When the key is within a 3-foot range from your vehicle, your Ford will instantly recognize it and will let you enter your vehicle and start the engine.
Smart Key*
The Smart Key or Integrated Keyhead Transmitter works as a remote keyless entry transmitter for your keyless entry system, which lets you quickly enter the vehicle. It also functions as a programmed ignition key, which lets you lock or unlock the vehicle as well as start the engine.
SecuriCode®*Keyless Entry Keypad
SecuriCode keyless entry keypad feature lets you access the vehicle by entering a security code on the keypad on the driver’s door. The keypad comes with a factory-set 5-digit entry code. You can also create up to five personal entry codes.
