How do I use the child safety locks in my Ford?
Child safety locks prevent rear-seat occupants from opening the rear doors from the inside.
Manual Child Safety Locks
The manual childproof locks are located on the rear edge of each rear door and must be set separately for each door.
- Left-Hand Side: Turn counterclockwise to lock and clockwise to unlock.
- Right-Hand Side: Turn clockwise to lock and anti-clockwise to unlock.
Automatic Child Safety Locks
If your vehicle is equipped with remote childproof locks, use your door controls to:
- Turn childproof locks on by pressing the switch.
- Turn childproof locks off by pressing the switch again.
Note: You cannot use the rear power window switches with the remote child safety locks on.
For more information, refer to the Child Safety section in your vehicle's Owner Manual.
