What do I do if Phone As A Key will not open my door?
If you are experiencing an issue with Phone As a Key, ensure the requirements are met and perform the troubleshooting steps below.
Phone As A Key Requirements
- Your phone is at:
- Bluetooth version is 4.2 and above
- iOS version 13 and above or Android OS version 8 and above
- You have the latest FordPass®* App version installed.
- The mobile Location Service/Permissions are set properly:
- iOS - Always
- Android - Allow all the time
- The Vehicle Connectivity Settings are enabled.
- The phone case has been removed from your device.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Hold your phone close to the door you would like to open.
- If the issue persists, proceed to step 2.
- Try a different door.
- If another door opens:
- It may also allow the first door you tried to open to unlock.
- This will be fixed in a future software update or if you would like to have the update sooner, visit your preferred Ford Dealer.
- If other doors are not working, proceed to Step 3.
- If another door opens:
- Toggle Bluetooth off and then back on.
- If the door still will not open, force close and relaunch the app.
- If that does not work, reboot your device.
