How does Hill Start Assist work on my Ford?
Hill Start Assist automatically activates to help prevent your vehicle from rolling backward when stopped on a hill or slope by maintaining pressure on your brakes. This gives you time to move your foot from the brake to the gas pedal.
- When you take your foot off the brake pedal, your vehicle will stay in place without rolling for about 2 seconds to give you time to drive away.
- When you press the accelerator, the brakes will automatically release.
Note: Hill Start Assist also works when your vehicle is in reverse.
