What is Pre-Collision Assist* with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) on my Ford?
The Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking feature is a driver-assist system designed to help detect and potentially avoid frontal collisions with other vehicles and pedestrians.
How it Works
- If a potential collision is detected, an alert sound is emitted and a warning message displays on the instrument cluster.
- If your response is not sufficient, AEB will increase Brake Assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you do brake.
- If the driver does not take corrective action and a collision is imminent, brakes will apply automatically.
Additional Information
Where can I learn more about Driver-Assist technologies?
*Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking can detect pedestrians, but not in all conditions and does not replace safe driving. Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s attention, judgment, and need to control the vehicle. See Owner's Manual for system limitations.
