How do I precondition my Ford electric vehicle?
You can precondition your electric vehicle (EV) through the FordPass® App or your vehicle's SYNC®* system. Preconditioning heats or cools your EV with electricity from the power grid, instead of from your vehicle's battery**. This keeps your battery at a healthy temperature when charging and your cabin climate just how you like it. This is especially important during the hot summer and cold winter months.
To precondition your EV:
- Set the departure time.
- Plug your vehicle into your charger.
Your vehicle will start to precondition based on how much you want to charge and when you want to depart.
